Sea kayaking Doubtful Sound, New Zealand

Sea kayaking New Zealand’s Doubtful Sound is a bucket list item for most. Doubtful Sound is the lesser traveled locale, as all of the tourist buses and boats clog Marlborough Sounds. During my half-week kayak camping in Doubtful Sound, we saw only one boat. Amazing!!! Little Fiordland penguins would pop their crested heads up next to my kayak. The water is so pristine, so clear, I could see seals swimming by. I chose the outfitter, Go Orange, and was impressed with the care received, as well as, the quality of the campsites. Weather in Fiordland National Park can be tricky, so I recommend you bring a dry top, buy the local black fly repellent, and have the adventure of a lifetime! Any of the kayak outfitters will take care of the rest. Feel free to ask me any questions about the trip, I am happy to share my experience…
